Shayna ShortK-2 Instructional Coach

Hello, my name is Shayna Short, I am the K-2 Instructional Coach at Lake Point Academy. I graduated from the University of Central Florida with my Bachelors in Elementary Education with my ESOL and Reading Endorsements. I have been an educator in the Florida School Systems for 11 years. I became interested in becoming a certified teacher after working for the school board as a camp counselor for 4 summers where I taught kids how to climb a ropes course. I have a passion to always "find the fun" while learning and to spread that mindset with the children of our future.

Natashia WeissPotential Specialist

 Hello! My name is Natashia Weiss and I have been in education for 10 years. I graduated with my Bachelor's in Elementary Education in 2012 and started working at Groveland Elementary. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade., mostly math and science. While I loved teaching, I wanted to branch out in the field of education so I went back to school. I earned my Master's in Educational Leadership in 2019 and started working as a Potential Specialist in 2021. 

I was born on the West coast of Florida, raised on the East coast, and settled down in the middle! I met my husband in 2004 and am married going on 14 years now. I am proud to call myself mom to two wonderful children, Rose and Spencer.  

I love coffee, spicy food, watching movies, theme parks, and books!
